Why It's Important to Celebrate Your Wins

It's the time of year when we start to review the past year, while looking ahead to the next one. And for all of use in the home business, this has been an insane year. Not only have we had record-breaking years for projects, but we've also had to deal with the mother of all supply chain issues and massive delays for products. That's the kind of thing that can cause serious whiplash! (I mean...doesn't your neck hurt just thinking about it?!) It is so critical, though, to celebrate the wins we've had in 2021. It was a tough year, so focusing on those highlights is really important. Let's take a look at WHY!

1. The Antidote to a Tough Year

On top of all the business pressures we've had this year, the worldwide pandemic, the supply chain issues, and all of the shipping delays have caused stress and pain to every single one of us. With a year like that (well it's really been TWO years), we all need to make the most of good news. Make a list of EVERY single thing that has happened in your business this year that has made you proud or excited. No matter how small, those are actually HUGE wins in a very tough time.

2. Motivation for More

It's also been difficult to be motivated in 2021, hasn't it? That's why we should review and celebrate the goals we met, the clients who were thrilled, and the stunning spaces we created. Once you've made your list and reviewed it, the pride and accomplishment you feel will be fuel to keep you moving forward! It will remind you of just how talented you TRULY are!! Plan a lunch or cocktail event for your employees to celebrate - or if you're a single-person venture, get together with some friends and tell them how you did in 2021. I know they'll be impressed!

3. It Gives You Confidence

I've talked before about how important confidence is to the success of your interior design business. Basically, if you own your own design company, sales needs to be one of your strengths! And it takes confidence to market your business, to upsell your services, AND to get your client to fall in love with your design presentation! Looking back at all that you've accomplished will remind you of WHY you got into this business in the first place. YOU are a great designer and you know what you're doing. So celebrate that and allow yourself to feel confident in what you do!

After a year - or two - like we've had, I'm sure many of you are exhausted and depleted. And that's completely understandable. So download my FREE Guide to Overcoming Design Fatigue. That, and a celebration of all you've accomplished, should help energize you to start 2022 with a renewed purpose!

xoxo,

Kathleen
